Celeb Stylist: iHaute or iNot
Sporting LV brand but not this StyleDIVA's favorite from this edition of Celeb Stylist. Love the yellow color but the fit is way to big on Thandie. With her shape she should have a better fit in the waist. She can look good in a paperbag but not this paperbag. Voted: iNot
Kayne made Kim get rid of 96% of her closet this week on KUWTK but he replaced it with this beauty and the StyleDIVA is glad she got it. A bit strange fitting in the waist/azz area but this Plus Size Barbie definately understands that one. Voted: iHaute
Now JLO is always a Red Carpet fav and her clothing line is just EVERTHANG. With this outfit however there are some pluses - beautiful front bottom and top drapes, color and fabric and some minues - sleeves, sleeves and sleeves. This really throws off the entire outfit for me. Voted: iNot
Tell us if I hit the mark or if you think I'm way off base - trust me you won't hurt my feelings. Give us your iHaute or iNot comments below. Yep right there at the bottom, can't wait to hear back from you.

I'm Sizzlin and I'm Single so....
Robin Hunt 41 - Supervisor,
Volunteer Services
Who’s been the biggest influence in your life? There are
really too many to name. From family and friends to Oprah I take it all in and
let the chips fall where they may.
One word to describe you: Spectacular.
Favorite local place to take a date: I’m new here so I
haven’t had a “local” date yet but strolling around at the Farmer’s Market
might be cool.
Book currently on your nightstand: On my iPad, on my
nightstand, 50 Shades of Grey and Single Girl Summer.
Best vacation you ever took: Aruba. It is
Mag-Freaking-Nificent.
If you could be a character from any movie, who would you
be? Carrie from Sex And The City – I’m a bit of a shoe-a-holic and hopeless
romantic.
Favorite holiday: Without a doubt Christmas…is there any
other Holiday that’s as magical? *Cue hopeless romantic music*
In the event of a Zombie Apocalypse, what is your weapon of
choice? Water Gun, don’t they melt when you shoot them with water? Or is that
fire? I’d better do some research.
If you could live during any other time in history, when
would it be? I think I’ll stay right here. It’s pretty cool trying to change
the world in hopes of a better tomorrow.
What did you want to be when you were growing up? A sports
reporter or philanthropist. If I ever hit the Mega Millions that second choice
still might pan out.
Most romantic date you’ve ever been on: The spa, yes sounds
a little self-serving but a private cabana with my date was the best way to end
the visit.
Guilty pleasure: Reality TV with a slice of vanilla cake
from Vons.
Favorite app on your phone: InstaGram – This thing rocks!
If we gave you $100 for a date, how would you spend it
locally? Helicopter ride over Malibu – Groupon has some great deals!
Saturday morning ritual: 4:30 a.m. alarm goes off to Co-Host
Cocktails and Conversation radio show, take a post-show nap, listen to the
show, get ready to drive my basketball phenom to some basketball
camp/game/tournament, plan one of my daughters’ business ventures. And that’s all
before noon! I might possibly throw in an exercise class every now and again.
The best birthday present you’ve ever received: Atari—by
far. Sorry, I’m a Gaming Mom!
The most you’ve ever spent on a date: Hmm, I tend not to be
the one spending on the date but I’m always up for trying something new.
Clowns: cool or scary? Scary, but I do have a cool clown
story.
Favorite local event: Local events? Okay, I really need a
date because I haven’t heard about any local events!
Best happy hour in town: Famous Dave’s – you can’t beat the
drink specials. I’m a Margarita kinda girl. Besides, it is family oriented and
the kids can sit “near” the bar.
Favorite website: www.blogspot.com/cocktailsandconversation.
Why? Because it’s mine.
Success, to you, is measured how? Happyness (yes with a Y).
Simply put, if you are happy with life, what you do, and the people you have
around you, you are quite successful.
What does “giving back” mean to you? Doing something without
expecting to receive anything in return is the premise of giving but to Give
Back means you consciously utilize your time to do the right thing for all the
right reasons. Spoken like a true Volunteer Supervisor.
Thanks @bakersfieldmagazine for the opportunity!

Leave it to Me | StyleDIVA
Now when I was a kid my dear old mom and dad slapped a perm up in my head as a little girl because they simply didn't now what to do with these curly locks. So I'm no stranger to the chemical process although many shutter when I tell them I use to rock a kiddie kit. Luckily it didn't mess up my natural curl pattern. Anywhoo I haven't had that done since about 9 years old and I normally wear my hair between straight and naturally curly depending on my mood. Since my workout schedule has increased the constant washing, blow drying and flat ironing have done damage to my hair. So when I was offered to test drive and review Smooth N' Shine At Home Keratin Power Semi-Permanent Hair Tamer for www.bzzagent.com I went with it. Here are my pros and cons:
iLove list
1. Ease of application
2. Short processing time
3. My hair looks like AMAZIN after a blow dry - no flat iron necessary (see pic below)
4. I could still go curly ie. natural
5. No fluffiness after working out (megaWATT bonus points)
6. Shrinkage BE GONE, it looked like my hair grew 5 inches
iHate list
1. Horrible smell that drove my son to close the door to his room and then go outside.
2. Last for about a month or 3 to 5 hair washes. I could have washed hair less but I'm so use to twice a week that it just felt normal.
3. Seems a little harsh on the ends of my hair.
4. I heard that repeat use of keratin products of a long period of time could effect your memory. NOW THAT'S SOME SCARY STUFF!!!!
Over all I enjoyed my Keratin experience but I don't plan to do it again any time soon. I just added some color and that's probably all the chemically inducement my hair can handle. Bald wouldn't look cute on me AT all!
Looks like a jail pic but this is just after a blow dry. |

Dirty Martini | Week in Review
She's hanging with David Beckham, The new Bond Girl aka Queen Elizabeth and the Duchess Catherine. We'd say Mrs. Obama is having a grand ole time on the other side of the pond. Even the USA Men's Basketball team lined up just to get a personalized hello from her. Barack is lucky to have her on his team and we love having her as an example for African Americans everywhere. #Barack2012
GO GO GABBY!
Man what an extraordinary performance from one of the Prettiest Brown Girls at the Olympics, Gabby Douglas. She helped her team win the gold and went on to rock more medal for her individual all around performance. Represent!!! That Russian chile was PO'd.
HOTTEST Olympic Bod - Ryan Lochte (but Track and Field hasn't come on yet swooning over David Oliver) and wait there's more...is he dating LAHHATL's Michelle K? Check out the Global Grind vid here: Is it a love connection with K Michelle and Lochte?
HOTTEST Thing Olympiads are receiving (besides swagalicious neck candy) - CELEB TWEETS.
Lil Wayne WEEZY F
Much luv to Ryan Lochte and the USA swim team!!!!

How does this happen? | StyleDIVA

Getting old for sure has not been fun but I tell you in the past few years I've experienced some strange stuff. One in particular is something I like to call Late Stage Claustrophobia. How do you develop this in your late 30s? The most interesting is how I realized that I was claustrophobic.
While visiting the last season of the Oprah show, one of my besties and I were headed back to the airport with one additional person in a Chi-Town cab. Riding along in the back of the cab I began to fill a little uneasy. We hit MAJOR traffic on the freeway and BAM I felt like my insides were about to burst out of my chest. I rolled the window down like a dog and stuck my head out of the window just to ensure I didn't vomit all over the back of the cab. Eventually I had to tell the cabbie to pull over so I could get in the front -- yes pull over on the freeway! What an experience.
Since then I've noticed this same feeling anytime I sit in the back of a car which is something I no longer can do, and just recently I was on a bus full of people sitting 1/2 way in and had to close my eyes until I got to my destination (luckily it was only a 10 minute ride). I mean is this the strangest thing or what? I'm wondering where on earth did it come from.
So I did a little research but still didn't find many answers. Apparently you can develop claustrophobia at any stage in life but when you are older (ahem) it appears that it comes from a fear of being stuck in a confined space ie. an elevator or plane. Whelp...don't remember this happening to me so no answer there. I also found out that this could be cured (hmmm) with hypnotherapy. I mean I wasn't expecting that I could take some magic pill and it would go away but I don't know about "hocus pocus" performances either. I'm going to have to give this some thought.
I've got to get through this though, I'm a thrill seeker and if you've ever been on a roller coaster you know it's not the most openly free space, especially when that over head bar comes down. YIKES my chest is getting tight typing this. So if anyone knows of what I speak or feels my pain drop me a comment in that box right there below....do you see it? Good. Because it can't be fashionable to be Claustrophobic.
