Lady O (Oprah Winfrey) talks to LL Cool J on the next episode of Oprah's "Next Chapter" which airs this Sunday, January 27th @ 9/8c on OWN. We promise she is getting all the great interviews lately. In true Oprah fashion she was able to get LL to open up and talk about his career, marriage, abusive childhood and the night he woke up to find a stranger in his home. I don't know about you but our DVR's are set and ready to record because this is going to be one candid interview.
Reality TV Recap
Starter Wives Confidential is the next reality TV dramedy to hit the air from TLC. These Starter Wives are either the ex-wives or ex-girlfriends of celebrities. Hmmmm this sounds like Basketball Wives but maybe it's just us. **Shrugs Shoulders** Cast-mates include: Jose Harris (ex-fiance of Floyd Merriweather), Tashera Simmons (ex-wife of DMX), Cheryl Caruso (ex-wife of Phil Caruso), Monica Joseph-Taylor (ex-wife of Funkmaster Flex), Liza Morales (ex-girlfriend of Lamar Odom) and Zakia Baum (ex-girlfriend of Manio). We are wondering what is the modis operandi....if they are ex's then move on, what kinda of dirt are they hoping to expose? The drama premieres Tuesday, January 29th @ 9|8c on TLC.
In other reality TV news, Style Network's Big Rich Atlanta premiered this past Wednesday and your girl, Erika (Cocktail Diva) had a chance to hang out with three of the cast members of the newest installment in reality TV. Sharlinda Rowe-Parker and her lovely and smart daughter Kahdijiha Rowe along with Sharlinda's twin sister and business partner Sabrina Rowe are showing viewers how you can have it all...beauty, brains, and money. Sabrina and Sharlinda are the owners of the suscessful salon Tu La 2 Nails located in the trendy Buckhead area of Atlanta. This show gives it's viewers an inside look inside the world of an exclusive Georgia country club where some of Georgia's wealthy mothers and daughters will do whatever it takes to be at the top of the local social scene and in control of all of the action. Well, it was love at first sight for this Diva as I will be setting my DVR to record this great new show every Wednesday at 8|7c on TLC.

This week I had an awesome time chatting it up with Tanesha from Girl With Curves. You might remember that I met her at the Rock Your Curves event last Fall and our footage never made it past the SD card. Well as luck would have it our paths crossed again and I got to talk with her about her blog, what great projects she has going on and her take on good clothing fit for a feature in Curvy Magazine. Log on to Curvy on Monday 1/28 for our interview.

We are so happy to see that our very own Antoinette Peterson (AKA Sister Save-A-Lot) was selected to compete in TLC's Extreme Couponing All Stars. This series takes the 12 best extreme Couponers to go head-to-head in a shopping challenge to see which Couponer can save the most money. During each episode, two Couponers compete and the person having the highest percentage of savings will be named the winner of the round. Out of the 12 contestants only 3 will make it to the finale.
The competition rules are simple:
1. Each Couponer must spend at least $500 retail. This is before any store savings and/or bonus cards.
2. Each Couponer must have a minimum of 15 different items.
3. Pre-orders can be placed in advance, however they are limited to only 3 different items.
4. Couponer cannot pay full price for anything. Everything purchased must be on sale.
5. All shopping have to be done in 30 minutes or less!
Antoinette's show aired this past Tuesday, so if you missed it don't worry. She'll fill us in on how she prepared for the competition and let us know the outcome on tomorrow's show. So make sure you tune it!
If you're interested in trying out the wonderful world of couponing, we encourage you to check out Antoinette's newly designed website at Sister Save-A-Lot for information on couponing classes, coupons and other great deals. You can also find her weekly, letting us in on the deals of the week on Cocktails and Conversation every Saturday @ 8am EST!
Today we Sister Save-A-Lot (Antoinette Pearson) called in to teach the Divas how to save at the grocery store by clipping coupons. You may have seen Antoinette on the TLC hit show Extreme Couponing.
Antoinette works for a large nonprofit agency in Chicago and is the proud mother of a 4 year old. As a working mother, Antoinette is also passionate on living on less and is committed to helping others (like the Divas) do the same. We had an opportunity to sit with Sister Save-A-Lot as she shared with us her secrets for saving at the grocery store checkout.
Here are a few of the tips she shared with us today:
Know your store's coupon policy before taking your shopping trip. You can check out the store's website or visit their customer service area.
Collect your coupons. You can get them from your Saturday/Sunday paper, websites (i.e. www.coupons.com) or from coupon clipping websites.
Create a system for organizing your coupons - binder or file cabinet or file box.
Build your stock pile by buying items that are on sale and that you have a coupon for. If laundry detergent is on sale now and you have a coupon for it, then get it now. Even if you don't need it now. Rest easy in knowing that you WILL need it at some point and just think, you got it on the cheap.
Always have your sales paper and coupons available and organized (you'll) thank Sister Save-A-Lot for this one when it comes time to make your grocery list and shopping.
Check out the coupon databases like www.coupontom.com to see if there are coupons for items that you would like to buy.
