Time to Make some Lemonade

I was recently connected with a powerful woman, Janet D. Thomas!  No she's not a weight lifter but she does help lift weight off of you.  She is the author of the book Lemons, Lemonade and Life.  How many of you have had a few lemons cross your path?  Well get ready to learn how you can squeeze those babies and make them into something sweet and refreshing.  I sat down with Janet and talked about her book, how it's helped me in my life and some of the key things people can do to make lemons work for them.  So get your Lemon Drop Martini and click on the YouTube link below and get some motivation to turn lemons into lemonade for an even SWEETER life.

Thanks so much for watching.  Be sure to visit Janet's website at www.JanetDThomas.com for more information on her movement!

Dirty Martini

Ahhhh, NeNe what are you doing with Greg Lekes?  Seems like these two can't get away from each other.  Just stay with him girl, it's hard to find a man out here!

Watch out for Gabby Douglas.  Not only is she sporting Olympic Gold, getting endorsements and hanging dancing with A. Keys at the VMA's BUT now she's got a book deal.  Yes, Gabby will have a book out by Christmas, a memoir - at 16!  I think The Divas definately could get in on this book deal situation!

Per TMZ.com Chad isn't giving up nor is he signing divorce paperwork.  Along with his new Evelyn tattoo he is giving it all he's got to save his marriage and his boo.  But according to a recent People Mag interview with Ev is stating, "He ain't about this life" no mo!  Keep it movin Chad, there's a perfect Mrs. out there for you.  #Truth

5 Things I Can't Live Without | Tiffany Current

Ladies...You've seen Think Like A Man so now you know how to get him to move to the next stage but how do you keep him there?  Well this week's guest can tell you just that.  Meet author of  the comically induced "How To Move In With Your Boyfriend (And Not Break Up With Him)", Tiffany Current and check out the 5 things she can't live without.

1) Phone - Yes, I am an iPhone junky.  I love using it to text friends, send tweets, surf the web, watch movies, and google map my way to the next location.

2) Television - More specifically trashy television.  Whether it's The Vampire Diaries,  Gossip Girl, or Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, trashy TV helps me appreciate the non-drama in my own life.  (The Divas agree she's our kinda girl!!!)

3) Family & Friends - I wouldn't be me without them, so I couldn't live without them either.

4) ChapStick - Blame it on habit or my chronic dry lips, but ChapStick is a must for every hour of the day.

5) Chocolate - There's a reason why the phrase "death by chocolate" exists.  Because if I had to choose, chocolate's definitely the best way to go.

Yes she definately belongs in the CnC club.  Anyone that can't live without chocolate is top-notch in our book.  Listen in on Saturday and chat with The Divas and Tiffany and learn more about how to keep that man of yours happy.  We will also have our Entertainment Girlfriend @KristynBurtt on the show and a special announcement from @chefamedaus.  Wow when we have a Cinco de Mayo celebration we really do it big.

5 Questions | Donneil Jackson

Author Donneil Jackson is breaking her book Chante's Song down with our resident GUEST BOOK REVIEWER Cassandra Ester on this week's show.  Sandi read this book in less then a week ya'll.  But for now get to know Donneil a little better with these 5 questions.....

1.  Who is your favorite author?  Why?
I have a few favorite authors. My number one is slowly trickling down my list of favorites. I love Lolita Files and Sheneska Jackson (where is she now-I really wonder this). Both of them had a certain style of writing that told me my style was acceptable.  I can’t really describe it. Lolita had me hooked with her novel, Getting to the Good Part, and I fell in love with Madison from Sheneska’s novel, Lil Mama’s Rules.

2.  Best way to spend a Saturday.

Doing absolutely nothing. (Except being on Cocktails and Conversation that is...)

3.  If you could be any character in your book who would it be and why?

I would be Chante. Why not be the starring lady? The lady who as she put it is the HBIC. I’m no ‘nasty girl’ however I love to take a walk on the dark side for just once in a fictional land.

4.  Chocolate or Potato Chips?

Potato Chips (Ruffles Sour Cream and Cheddar to be exact). I am not a fan of chocolate. I know that might be hard to believe, a woman who doesn’t crave chocolate. Laughing out loud.

5.  Do you think books should be made into movies?

I think the books that I read shouldn’t be made into the movies. And that’s not \a bad thing. When you read a book, you escape into it. You envision everything as you see fit. Your imagery is destroyed when they put in on the silver screen. Also, all the movies don’t always do the book justice. Movies do not always live up to the expectations that the book has set.

Sounds like we have one juicy book to review along with all the other gossip and reality lowdown for the week.  So get your glass, turn up the volume and get ready to dive into Chante's Song by Donneil Jackson reviewed by Cassandra Ester.  To learn more about Donneil, her book and upcoming projects please visit her website www.donneildjackson.com.
