Dirty Martini | Week In Review

Celeb 411
Couldn't they have told him to watch the pole!  DANG
Celeb 411 - We can't get enough of Kimye and apparently neither can the Papi.  Poor Kanye was caught on tape running into a pole while house hunting (again) with Kim K.  Ouch!  Then of course there was the Night At the Museum...we mean MET where that tragedy of a dress worn by Kim was just....just TRAGIC.  Yes we've talked about her maternity wear with Kristyn Burtt recently but she is just not listening to us!  Luckily she won't be stuffing herself into regular clothes much longer as baby Kimye should be arriving soon.

We just have to mention once again how much we love Chelle O as our girl Patrice Washington calls her.  Just loving her, with one handsome Prince Harry, in this look by Prabal Gurung (did you know they sell this label at Target?).  As always she is looking ever so lovely at the Mother's Day White House Tea.  Gon girl!!!

Reality Recap
Evelyn Lozado and her daughter Shaniece hit up the cover of Rolling Out Magazine.  In this special Mother's Day edition they talk about their very close relationship.  Evelyn reveals how she leaned on Shaniece after the domestic abuse situation with her now ex-husband Chad Johnson.  Shaniece said that was her proudest moment of her mother when she left that situation.  Congrats on the cover ladies!

StyleDIVA Adventures
StyleDIVA Adventure:  It's Curvy Trend of The Week time and this week I'm sharing with you the latest in cute curvy denim looks.  The ladies behind the brand ZMJ Denim  are gearing up to take the show on the road to FFFWeek in NYC and need some support.  Check out their campaign on Kickstarter to support them as they get ready for one of the biggest plus size fashion shows of the year.
Cocktail Erika’s Cocktail of the Week

Tequila Sunrise
Ingredients:
4 oz. orange juice
2 oz tequila
1/2 oz. grenadine
orange slice for garnish
maraschino cherry for garnish

Mixing Instructions:
Pour the tequila and the orange juice into a highball glass with ice cubes.  Stir until ingredients are combined well.  Next slowly pour the grenadine around the inside edge of the glass.  The grenadine will sink and then slowly rise to mix with the other ingredients naturally.  Then garnish with the orange slice and cherry.

Enjoy!

The Dirty Martini Week in Review

Celeb 411

On and poppin like popcorn this Sunday for the Super Bowl Half-Time show!  That's right our girl Baddie Bey is not lip syncing this weekend.   This ahem, concert,  is gonna blow your socks off.  Take a look at some of the pics she's been sharing with us in prep for the Big Show.  #FOCUSED!!!!  More pics can be found on her Tumblr account.

Reality Recap

It's official Angie Stone has been named to the new cast of TV Ones' R & B Divas.  Taping has already begun and will premier in April.  Wonder if we'll get some behind the scenes on her and her baby daddy D'Angelo - this will be one to watch!  Former Xscape member LaToucha Scott is also on board for appearances.  Ut-oh Tiny and Kandi hope there's no dirty laundry you don't want to get out there.

StyleDIVA Adventures
I did it!  Ever since Full Figured Fashion Week was introduced to the world I was intrigued.  I stood in the shadows lurking perhaps even stalking what was going on with one of the biggest plus sized fashion extravaganzas ever...Curvy Revolution being another (have to give props to Keke).  So yeah, back to what I did.  FFF Week has a competition for The Face of FFF.  Is that cool or what?  I might be a lil short to rock a runway but talking to folk on camera --- that I got!  Here is my submission video, there are lots of FAB women that I'm competing against but win or lose the point is I conquered my fear and did something I've wanted to do for over 4 years!  #Driven remember!

PS.  If you LIKE the video click on that THUMBS Up Button for me!

Cocktail Erika’s Cocktail of The Week

1 ounce Bourbon or rye whiskey

Did You Catch Our Show????

This month is all about getting organized (I mean how can we run our empire if we've got stuff everywhere right?).  Knowing that we can't do it alone, we reached out to organizing guru Mikita Burton to provide us with some tips on how to get started (can you say overwhelmed?) and find out some of her "go to" products so we can finally take control of all this clutter.  She provided us with some great tips and ways to get your New Year New You self together.  Also on this Super Bowl eve our  Twitter friend Russ the Pro Football Guru stopped by the studio to share his thoughts and picks on Super Bowl 47.  And it just wouldn't be the first Saturday of the month if our Hollywood BFF Kristyn Burtt didn't come by and fill us in on all the latest happenings in the wonderful world of entertainment.  It was a GREAT show - what a way to kick off the month right?  If you didn't get a chance to listen to the LIVE broadcast don't worry, you know we've got you covered.  Just click on the play button below and enjoy!

HAPS FOR THE WEEK / TWO

Let’s talk make up this week. I am not a huge fan of the everyday glam face but one thing has been intriguing me and that’s THE SMOKY EYE. I did a little research and found a great article on InStyle.com, 5 Steps to the Perfect Smoky Eye. I’ll give it a try when I meet @atlevtdiva for drinks on Friday I’ll get her reaction and share it with you. If you give the tips in the article a try let me know and we can swap pixs.

5 Steps to the Perfect Smoky Eye!

Follow These Simple Tips

1. Use a medium-size round brush to apply charcoal gray powder in an arch shape just above the crease of the lid. Then blend down to the lash line.
2. Trace the upper lash line with a soft black pencil, then gently smudge with your fingertip.
3. With a smaller, firm-bristle brush, press a gunmetal shade into the lower lash line.
4. Apply a pale silver powder to the inner corners of the eyes to lighten the overall effect.
5. Pile on mascara

Next week the Event Diva and I will be broadcasting LIVE from the MGM Grand in Detroit, come out and join us! 8 am 3/19

# HOTNESS / THREE

Our #Hotness segment yesterday was a recap of my FASHISM experience, dish on the upcoming Full Figured Fashion Week and my IPad2 line expedition. So where do I begin….

Well let’s start with the IPad2, never meant to be mistaken for the IPad mind you. This little device had me standing in line for 3 hours watching some of the most interesting “techie” people in the world. Good thing I was surrounded by my favorite mall collection, Somerset in Troy to distract me from the aching in my legs after hour one! The Apple people really do it big, roped off sections, free Starbucks coffee and SMART water. I could have gone for a free ITunes card but hey we are in a recession right? Although it was hard to tell with the 200+ people in line willing to spend an upwards of $499 to get the hottest item in the world of Stargate LOVers. And yes I was one of them, though I was purchasing for a friend and didn’t even get a chance to unveil the product, touch it and skim through all the amazing apps this new Ipad has to offer. So this style divas recommendation is this: Even if you can’t afford to buy one do the next best thing and visit the Apple store near year. It’s like a major party going on in there every time I go through, it is really a hip place. Email me and let me know what you think, cocktailsandconversation.divas@gmail.com.

I’m still debating on the FASHISM experience. I posted my picture finally yesterday, neck down of course, and received some feedback which was encouraging. Earlier in the week I tried to upload my photo and it didn’t work so I posted something on FASHISMs Facebook page and actually received a response. Kudos for that FASHISM. Below is the picture I posted with comments I received:

Rounding up #Hotness is Full Figured Fashion week or better known as #FFFWeek on Twitter. Heard of Fashion Week? Well this is double the pleasure with the Curvy Women ripping the runway. The third year in existence and the creators (DeVoe Signature Events) of this event are doing it big, no pun intended. They are taking this show to New York and Los Angeles – could Paris be next? So this style diva is for sure planning on attending the New York show in June. Visit the website to find out more http://www.fffweek.com//

Please continue to pray for Japan and support efforts to ensure they receive necessary aid. You can always contact the American Red Cross to donate blood or give a monetary donation. Whatever you decide to do, do something – Kindness is ALWAYS Fashionable!
