Mission Organization | The Closet

Our resident stylist Fatima Tania has been working....double maybe even triple time getting her business to reach the pinnacle.  However we were able to get her to help us this week as we prep for our show this Saturday on organization. First stop, your closet.  Below you will find Fatima's formula for whipping your closet in shape for the New Year.

From the Blog of Perception & Co.
========================================================================

I would first like to say Happy New Year to all of my love muffins who are reading this. I hope that this year is better then the last and that you focus on all your goals and get them accomplished. I have been on a brief hiatus for several reasons: I was focusing on the creation, launch and building of Perception & Co. Boutique. I also am now back in college for another degree this time Fashion and Retail Management and the biggest reason is my move. I am from the Bronx for those who are not aware and my mom moved my self and my brother to Albany, NY 14 years ago. 2 weeks ago I officially moved back to NYC. I am both nervous and excited for the new move. I am still settling into my place and one of the BIGGEST hurdles I’m facing is going from 6 closets to 2.

As a stylist and personal shopper I have helped my customers revamp their image and closets and now those useful tools will come in handy for myself. What better time then the new year to get a new closet? I will share with you what you can do to get organized and make your closet a dream closet or at minimum not dreadful to open.

5 Questions | Fatima Tan'ia

You all know she's our Go-To-Girl for stylist advice and guess what she just announced that she has gone Indie and started her own thang!  The Divas love an INDEPENDENT woman.  Fatima's on the show this week so we thought it'd be good for you to get to know her with these 5 questions.....

1. Favorite scent?  Bond No. 9 Bryant Park (Oh she is way so stylish)

 2. Last song you downloaded. Beyonce "I Was Here"

 3. Advice you'd give a young stylist starting out.  For every 100 "no's" there is one "yes" don't get discouraged. If you believe in your dream keep fighting.

4. Wedge or platform heels?  I like them both. It depends on my mood. If I'm looking for comfort I go with a wedge if I'm going for fierce I opt for a platform.

5. Favorite quote or bible verse.  I'll give you one of each..."Fashions fade, style is eternal"-Yves St. Laurent and Psalms 23:4-5 (Look it up peeps)

Now that you are in the world of Fatima Tan'ia you've got to be sure to join her and us on the show this week with her take on Marvelous Misses, Fab finds under Fifty, Sassy Stylish Shoe and April's Fashion Roundup.  Make sure you listen to Cocktails and Conversation on Saturday 4/21 8AM EST

Guest Post | Golden Globe Recap | Fatima Tan'ia

The 69th Annual Golden Globes was the first major award show of 2012. This past Sunday night, the hottest celebrities in Hollywood gathered on the red carpet to celebrate one of the biggest nights in movies, television, and of course my absolute favorite, fashion. Celebrities like Charlize Theron and Sophia Vergara exuded fabulosity by showcasing a major wow factor and then there were those that completely missed the mark. Here are our best and worst dressed from the Golden Globes:

Best:
Charlize Theron wore a stunning Dior Couture gown adorned with Cartier diamonds and a Cartier vintage headband.

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara nailed a custom made Vera Wang mermaid style dress which was one of the most sought after trends for the Golden Globes. She completed her look with Casadei heels and $5 million dollars worth of Harry Winston Jewelery.

Reese Witherspoon was absolutely gorgeous as she sported a red Zac Posen mermaid dress with a sweetheart neckline.

Julianne Moore opted for an amazing black Chanel Gown. She completed her look with emerald and diamond earrings and a whopping 9 carat diamond ring by Fred Leighton.

Jessica Alba wore pale lavender Gucci strapless gown with a train and Bulgari Jewelry.

Worst: These next few celebs left me speechless and not in a good way

Elle MacPherson(Zac Posen dress looked like a prom dress gone wrong….way too much tulle), Angelina Jolie (red folded accent on her Atelier Versace dress which mimicked a bib) , Tilda Swinton (Her matching frocs did nothing for her pale skin tone), Sarah Michelle Gellar (reminded me of an art project gone terribly wrong) and Dianna Agron (laser cut swans were way too busy and the tiered skirt added to the confusion).

The trends for this year 69th Annual Golden Globes were mermaid dresses, cut out backs, plunging necklines, pastels, combination of black and white as well as dark blues. The Italian Designer heavy hitters were Gucci, Prada, Armani Prive andVersace. There were some stars that took risk but most played it safe this year.
